How Juvederm Fillers Rejuvenates Your Face
Dermal filler treatments is a customized treatment procedure, which can use different types of fillers. Among the most popular is hyaluronic acid fillers (HA), on which Juvederm injectable fillers are based.
Hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm dermal fillers or Restylane Lyft and Restylane Refyne dermal filler injection treatments work by restoring hyaluronic acid that was lost or diminished due to factors such as aging, stress, or other lifestyle factors. Juvederm HA fillers also encourage the new production of hyaluronic acid to keep the skin looking fresh and hydrated.
Target Area | Juvéderm Treatment |
Moderate to severe loss of jawline contour | Juvéderm Volux XC |
Cheek volume loss, chin augmentation | Juvéderm Voluma XC |
Moderate to severe facial wrinkles and nasolabial folds | Juvéderm Vollure XC Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC |
Moderate to severe nasolabial folds and lip line | Juvéderm Ultra XC |
Lip line, under eye | Juvéderm Volbella XC |
So if you’re looking for a rejuvenating treatment option that’s not as drastic as plastic surgery, then long-lasting Juvederm filler treatments may be perfect for you. But take note that dermal filler treatments don’t always address fine lines and facial folds, especially in severe cases where only plastic surgery can address the problem.
Juvederm Injectable Fillers: Approved Uses
Juvederm injectable filler treatments are only approved for facial uses, it’s not approved to be used for any other body parts. Shown in the table below are the approved uses of Juvederm injectable fillers.
So Juvederm hyaluronic acid filler treatments may be used as a lip filler for vertical lip lines or lip injections for thin lips, under eye filler, and cheek filler. Juvederm dermal filler injections may also be used to improve the jawline, chin, and neck. Additionally, it can plump up your facial skin where moderate to severe smile lines, nasolabial fold and marionette lines are present.
Long-Lasting Volume and Smooth Results with Juvederm Fillers
Unlike other injectable treatments such as Botox cosmetic and sculptra aesthetic, among many others, Juvederm dermal filler injections provide a natural-looking result while preserving free facial expressivity.
Results can be seen immediately after the treatment, when the skin is expected to appear much smoother, plumper, and contoured. The full results may be seen at least 2 weeks after the treatment wherein the Juvederm fillers are expected to have settled within the skin.
Because Juvederm injectable filler treatments encourage new collagen production, you can expect skin improvements in the succeeding months to come until your dermal fillers are fully metabolized by your body.
The effect of Juvederm injectable filler treatments is expected to last for up to 12 to 18 months, depending on your body’s reaction to it. Its fading effect is actually a great advantage because it means that any adverse effects of the treatment may be reversible at some point.
A maintenance treatment session, at least a year after your first Juvederm filler injection, is required to sustain your youthful, rejuvenated look from Juvederm fillers. The interval of your Juvederm filler injections depend upon the treatment plan created by your aesthetic provider.
There may be some slight swelling, minimal bruising, and other mild side effects depending on how well you have prepared for the treatment. Going to an aesthetic provider with extensive experience and knowledge on dermal fillers also contributes positively to the effectiveness and safety of your injectable treatment.

After Care Instructions: Dos and Don’ts for Effective Results
Side effects are almost unavoidable after dermal filler treatments, but following aftercare instructions given by your aesthetic provider can speed up your recovery period and improve the effectiveness of your Juvederm filler treatment. Other than diligently applying skin care products prescribed by your provider, here are some dos and don’ts after your Juvederm injectable filler treatment:
- Do treat signs of bruising. Apply a cold compress and then a hot compress as directed by your provider to reduce bruising. You can also take arnica supplements and avoid drinking alcohol to minimize bruising.
- Don’t take blood thinners. Blood thinning medication and supplements may worsen bruising so it’s best to avoid it even after the treatment.
- Do wait for 24 hours before applying makeup. This helps prevent any occurrence of skin irritation or skin infection. Not applying makeup also helps you clearly see the extent of your bruising so you can accurately report it to your doctor.
- Don’t expose yourself to too much heat or perform strenuous exercises. As your fillers settle down, you also need to calm down and give your body some time and energy to relax and heal itself from the treatment.
- Do stay hydrated. Hyaluronic acid binds itself to hydrogen, which keeps you looking hydrated and plumped up. But don’t rely too much on your newly injected fillers, it’s still best to drink more fluids for more effective results.
Take note of any signs that the side effects of the treatment are worsening or your treatment area isn’t showing any improvements. If side effects persist after 2 weeks, consult your doctor.
